The Sophia Method A Guide to Conscious Choice
Mark Greer · 1 chapters · ~3 min
How Do I Choose?
The question written under Free Will is:
How do I choose?
This is the practical center of the I Structure.
Free Will is not random choice. It is not impulse. It is not doing whatever desire demands in the moment. Free Will becomes wise only when it passes through Sophia.
So the answer is:
You choose by the method.
The method begins with observation.
First, see what’s so.
Do not begin with fear. Do not begin with fantasy. Do not begin with inherited programming, panic, pride, resentment, guilt, or the old wound.
Begin with reality.
Ask:
What is actually happening?
This is the first act of higher consciousness. A highly evolved being does not argue with what is so. It observes what is so.
Then ask:
Do I need to experience this directly, or can I learn through revelation?
This is where the soul stops needing pain as its only teacher.
Experience says:
“I know because I suffered it.”
Revelation says:
“I know because I observed, remembered, listened, and chose before suffering had to repeat.”
The universe already contains the contrast. You do not need to create every opposite in your own life in order to know what you are. You can observe the contrast elsewhere in the field. You can remember that it exists. You can learn from the experience of others. You can receive wisdom before consequence becomes necessary.
Then Sophia asks the F.A.S. questions:
Functionality — Does this work?
Does this choice actually function in reality? Does it produce Life, order, clarity, movement, peace, strength, or truth? Or does it merely satisfy emotion for a moment?
Adaptability — Can this change without breaking?
Can this choice survive pressure? Can it grow? Can it receive correction? Can it remain coherent when conditions shift?
Sustainability — Can this continue without collapse?
Can this choice be lived over time? Or does it require self-betrayal, exhaustion, domination, addiction, denial, rescue, or destruction?
If a choice does not function, adapt, and sustain, it is not wisdom yet.
It may be desire.
It may be fear.
It may be impulse.
It may be fantasy.
But it is not yet Sophia.
After F.A.S., the soul must test the quiet signature:
Joy — Does this carry Life?
Not pleasure. Not excitement. Not escape. Joy means there is a clean movement of Life beneath the choice, even if the choice is difficult.
Truth — Can I honestly say this is true?
Not convenient. Not flattering. Not useful to my ego. True. Can this choice stand in reality without deception?
Love — What would love do now?
Not fear. Not pride. Not revenge. Not weakness. Not control. Love.
Love may stay.
Love may leave.
Love may speak.
Love may be silent.
Love may forgive.
Love may confront.
Love may rest.
Love may build.
Love may stop enabling destruction.
Love is not always soft, but love always seeks the highest becoming available in the moment.
Only after this does Free Will become clean.
Then the choice can be made: I choose this because it works for Life.I choose this because it can adapt.I choose this because it can sustain.I choose this because it carries joy, truth, and love.I choose this because it represents who I am becoming.
That is how Free Will answers the question.
Not by guessing.
Not by drifting.
Not by reacting.
Not by touching every stove to prove fire burns.
But by observing, remembering, discerning, testing, and choosing consciously.
This is the law of conscious choice: See what’s so.Do what works.Learn by revelation when possible.Learn by experience when necessary.Test through Functionality, Adaptability, and Sustainability.Discern through Joy, Truth, and Love. Then choose as Cause.
This is how the local I moves with the Great I.
This is how Free Will becomes Wisdom.
This is how the soul stops repeating pain and begins remembering Life.
