The Contextual Field Using the Universe as a Tool
Mark Greer · 12 chapters · ~16 min
The Universe as the Contextual Field How to Use the Whole Universe as a Tool for Creating Your Life The universe is not merely a place where life happens.
The universe is the contextual field in which life becomes knowable.
It contains contrast.
It contains relationship.
It contains memory.
It contains possibility.
It contains all choices, all outcomes, all consequences, all paths, all opposites, all examples, all warnings, and all mirrors.
It contains every Body Between every relationship.
And because of this, the universe functions like a vast copying field.
Not a copying machine in the cheap mechanical sense, but in the deeper symbolic sense: it receives beingness, reflects beingness, multiplies beingness, and produces living copies of what consciousness repeatedly chooses to express.
What you are being is copied into the field.
What you repeatedly choose is copied into pattern.
What you hold in consciousness is copied into relationship.
What you act from becomes copied into consequence.
What you fear and worship becomes copied into your experience.
What you desire and consciously choose begins forming a path.
The universe is always asking:
“What are you being now?”
Then it gives you more field in which to know that beingness.
This is why desire matters.
Desire is not a small thing.
Desire is the signal of becoming.
Desire is the soul’s direction before the path has fully appeared.
Desire says:
“This is the portion of the field I want to experience.”
Free Will says:
“I choose this.”
Memory says:
“I know what the other roads become.”
Experience says:
“Then live the choice and see its fruit.”
This is the basic mechanics of creation.
I. The Universe Is the Contextual Field
A human being cannot know warmth without cold.
Cannot know courage without fear.
Cannot know peace without conflict.
Cannot know truth without deception.
Cannot know love without the possibility of its absence.
But this does not mean you must create suffering beside you in order to know joy.
This is the great correction.
You do not need to create hell in your house to know heaven.
You do not need to create betrayal in your relationship to know loyalty.
You do not need to create poverty in your body to know abundance.
You do not need to create sickness in your life to know health.
You do not need to create hatred in your field to know love.
The universe already contains the contrast.
The field is already full.
The universe is the contextual field.
This means the entire universe is available as a teaching tool.
If you want to understand what a choice becomes, look.
If you want to understand what fear becomes, look.
If you want to understand what discipline becomes, look.
If you want to understand what laziness becomes, look.
If you want to understand what love becomes, look.
If you want to understand what resentment becomes, look.
If you want to understand what courage becomes, look.
The field already contains examples.
The field already contains warnings.
The field already contains evidence.
The field already contains outcomes.
You do not have to personally repeat every mistake in order to understand the lesson.
You can observe.
You can remember.
You can choose.
That is how the universe becomes a tool.
II. The Body Between All Relationships
Every relationship creates a third field.
There is you.
There is another.
And there is what is created between you.
That third field is the Body Between Us.
This applies to romance, friendship, family, work, conflict, memory, grief, inheritance, and even the relationship between the living and the dead.
There is a father.
There is a son.
And there is the Body Between them.
There is a mother.
There is a child.
And there is the Body Between them.
There is a person.
There is money.
And there is the Body Between them.
There is a person.
There is food.
And there is the Body Between them.
There is a person.
There is work.
And there is the Body Between them.
There is a person.
There is God/Life.
And there is the Body Between them.
This Body Between is made from energy, memory, expectation, silence, words, action, care, resentment, forgiveness, truth, and love.
It is not imaginary.
It is the lived field of relationship.
A room feels different after an argument because the Body Between has changed.
A family feels different after forgiveness because the Body Between has changed.
A workplace feels different under good leadership because the Body Between has changed.
A relationship feels different when truth is finally spoken because the Body Between has changed.
Time is held in this field.
Time is the collective Body Between all relationships.
What has passed between beings becomes memory.
What is passing between beings becomes experience.
What may pass between beings becomes possibility.
So time is not merely the ticking of clocks.
Time is the record of relationship moving through the contextual field.
III. The Universe as a Copying Field
The universe copies beingness.
This does not mean every thought instantly becomes an object.
That is childish magic.
It means something more functional:
What you repeatedly are becomes easier to repeat.
What you repeatedly choose becomes a pattern.
What you repeatedly embody becomes identity.
What you repeatedly send into the Body Between becomes the atmosphere you live in.
Anger repeated becomes an angry field.
Fear repeated becomes a fearful field.
Avoidance repeated becomes a field of delay.
Truth repeated becomes a field of clarity.
Discipline repeated becomes a field of trust.
Love repeated becomes a field of safety.
Courage repeated becomes a field of strength.
The universe copies you by giving your beingness more relational surface area.
It gives you more situations where that state can express.
It gives you more mirrors.
It gives you more consequences.
It gives you more chances to see what you are choosing.
The field reflects and multiplies.
This is why the universe can feel like it keeps “giving you the same lesson.”
It is not because the universe is cruel.
It is because unresolved beingness keeps reproducing itself through different relationships.
The names change.
The jobs change.
The lovers change.
The houses change.
The cities change.
But the Body Between keeps carrying the same signal until the I chooses differently.
This is not punishment.
It is cause and effect.
IV. Cause and Effect in the Contextual Field
The contextual field contains all possible outcomes, choices, options, and consequences.
Every choice is a cause.
Every cause enters the field.
Every field produces effects.
Every effect becomes memory.
Every memory informs the next choice.
This is the cycle:
Choice → Cause → Effect → Memory → New Choice
Or:
Beingness → Expression → Consequence → Record → Becoming
This is how life evolves.
Not by random wanting.
Not by fantasy.
Not by pretending conditions do not matter.
But by consciously choosing what you are being, observing what that being produces, and choosing again.
The universe is not separate from cause and effect.
The universe is the field in which cause and effect can be seen.
This is why observation matters.
A person who does not observe the field repeats.
A person who observes the field learns.
A person who learns from the field can choose without needing to recreate every negative experience locally.
That is the beginning of mastery.
V. Why Desire Is the Only Thing That Matters
Desire is the only thing that matters because desire is the original direction of becoming.
Before there is a plan, there is desire.
Before there is action, there is desire.
Before there is discipline, there is desire.
Before there is sacrifice, there is desire.
Before there is a life built in a new direction, there is desire.
Desire asks:
“What do I choose to become?”
This does not mean every passing craving is holy.
There is a difference between desire and impulse.
Impulse wants relief.
Desire wants becoming.
Impulse says:
“Make this discomfort stop.”
Desire says:
“I know there is a larger life trying to be born.”
Impulse is loud.
Desire is persistent.
Impulse often collapses after satisfaction.
Desire keeps returning because it belongs to becoming.
This is why most people do not follow desire.
Not because they have no desire.
They have desire.
They feel it.
They talk about it.
They dream about it.
They envy people who followed it.
But they do not obey it.
When we say “98% of people do not follow desire,” this should not be treated as a strict statistic. It is a way of saying most people do not live from their deepest becoming. They live from fear, programming, survival, approval, comfort, habit, obligation, shame, distraction, or inherited identity.
Most people follow: what is safe, what is familiar, what is approved, what avoids conflict, what pays quickly, what numbs pain, what keeps the group comfortable, what protects the old self.
But desire often asks for a death before it gives a life.
It asks you to leave an identity.
It asks you to disappoint people.
It asks you to endure uncertainty.
It asks you to build before anyone claps.
It asks you to choose before proof arrives.
It asks you to become cause.
That is why most people do not follow it.
Desire is expensive.
But the cost of not following it is higher.
The person who does not follow desire still creates reality.
They create by default.
They create by fear.
They create by delay.
They create by pleasing.
They create by avoidance.
They create a life they did not consciously choose, then call it fate.
Desire matters because it is the soul’s compass inside the contextual field.
Without desire, the person drifts.
With desire, the person has direction.
With Free Will, the person chooses.
With Sophia, the person tests the path.
With action, the person becomes.
VI. Free Will Makes You the Creator of Your
Life Free Will does not mean you control everything.
You do not control every condition.
You do not control every person.
You do not control every consequence already in motion.
You do not control weather, biology, death, history, other people’s choices, or every limit inside the field.
But you do control something sacred:
You control what you choose to be in relation to the field.
That is where creation begins.
You are not the total controller of reality.
You are the creator of your life through participation.
You choose what you are being.
You choose what you keep repeating.
You choose what you place in the past.
You choose what you bring into the present.
You choose what meaning memory will carry.
You choose what kind of Body Between you will feed.
You choose what portion of the contextual field you prefer to experience.
This is the key:
The universe contains all contrast.
The I chooses which contrast becomes local experience.
If you want peace, you do not need to deny conflict.
You observe conflict in the field, remember what it produces, and choose peace here.
If you want love, you do not need to deny hatred.
You observe hatred in the field, remember what it produces, and choose love here.
If you want discipline, you do not need to hate laziness.
You observe laziness in the field, remember what it produces, and choose discipline here.
If you want abundance, you do not need to worship poverty.
You observe poverty in the field, remember what it produces, and choose stewardship here.
This is how Free Will becomes creative.
You stop recreating the negative locally.
You use the whole universe as contrast.
Then you choose the present experience.
VII. The Functional Formula
The formula is not meant to be perfect.
It is meant to be usable.
T.I.M.E. = Totality → I → Memory → Experience
Or:
TIME = Totality interpreted by the I through Memory into Experience.
Totality is the whole contextual field.
All conditions.
All contrast.
All relationships.
All outcomes.
All memory.
All possibility.
All Body Between all relationships.
The I is the local chooser.
The one who observes.
The one who listens.
The one who interprets.
The one who decides.
The one who says, “This is what I choose to be now.”
Memory is the record.
Personal memory.
Body memory.
Family memory.
Historical memory.
Collective memory.
Revelation.
The observed experiences of others.
The lessons already present in the field.
Experience is the lived result.
The portion of the field you bring into your present life through repeated choice, action, attention, and beingness.
So the working formula becomes:
The field contains everything.The I chooses.Memory guides.Experience forms.
Or even simpler:
Observe the field.Return to the I.Read memory.Choose the experience.
VIII. How to Use the Universe as a Tool
Using the universe as a tool does not mean controlling the universe.
It means learning from the whole field instead of trapping yourself in your own small field.
Here is the basic method.
- Decide what you desire
Ask:
What do I actually want to become?
Not what do I want to avoid.
Not what do I want people to think.
Not what do I want because I am lonely, scared, angry, or wounded.
What do I desire at the level of becoming?
Examples:
I desire peace.
I desire a healthy body.
I desire a clean home.
I desire real love.
I desire financial freedom.
I desire self-respect.
I desire mastery.
I desire communion with Life.
Desire gives direction.
Without desire, the field cannot organize around a chosen becoming.
- Observe the contextual field Look outward.
Use the universe.
Do not merely look at your own life.
Look at people who chose the path you are considering.
Look at people who avoided it.
Look at people who built the thing.
Look at people who destroyed the thing.
Look at history.
Look at families.
Look at relationships.
Look at bodies.
Look at businesses.
Look at civilizations.
Look at consequences.
Ask:
What does this path become?
What does the opposite become?
What has already been proven in the field?
What do I not need to recreate locally?
This is how the universe becomes a classroom.
- Put negative experience in the past Do not drag every negative contrast into the present.
If you have seen what resentment does, you do not need to recreate resentment here.
If you have seen what addiction does, you do not need to recreate addiction here.
If you have seen what laziness does, you do not need to recreate laziness here.
If you have seen what dishonesty does, you do not need to recreate dishonesty here.
Place it in the past.
Not by denial.
By proper position.
Let it become record.
Let it become memory.
Let it become contrast.
Let it become warning.
Let it become revelation.
The negative belongs in the field as information.
It does not need to become your present identity.
- Enter silence and find the signature Observation is not enough.
You must also enter the inner room.
Go quiet.
Listen beneath fear.
Listen beneath ego.
Listen beneath resentment.
Listen beneath urgency.
Listen beneath old programming.
Then ask:
Does this carry Life?
That is Joy.
Can I honestly say this is true?
That is Truth.
What would love do now?
That is Love.
Joy, Truth, and Love are the inner filter.
They keep desire from becoming fantasy.
They keep truth from becoming cruelty.
They keep love from becoming weakness.
They keep Free Will from becoming impulse.
- Test the desire through F.A.S.
A desire must be able to survive reality.
Use Sophia’s test.
Functionality: Does this work?
Can this desire function in the present configuration of my life?
Adaptability: Can it change without breaking?
Can this desire survive change, pressure, correction, and uncertainty?
Sustainability: Can it continue across many Nows?
Can this desire become a life pattern without collapsing my body, mind, finances, relationships, or integrity?
The formula is:
F.A.S. = F(C) + A(C → C ′ ) + S(C ₁ , C ₂ , C ₃ …)
Where:
C = a configuration, a Now
So:
F(C) = Does this Now function?
A(C → C′) = Can this Now adapt into the next Now?
S(C₁, C₂, C₃…) = Can this pattern sustain across many Nows?
This is the role of Sophia:
Sophia is the intelligence that tests whether a desire can survive lawful relationship across
changing Nows.
- Choose as cause After desire, observation, memory, silence, and testing, choose.
Do not drift.
Do not merely react.
Do not wait for the field to choose for you.
Say:
This is what I choose to be now.
Then act.
The action does not need to be dramatic.
It needs to be real.
Make the call.
Tell the truth.
Clean the room.
Set the boundary.
Go to sleep.
Save the money.
Write the page.
Leave the place.
Begin the work.
Ask for help.
Practice the skill.
Stop feeding the old pattern.
The universe responds to beingness embodied.
Not merely beingness imagined.
- Watch the effect Once you act, observe.
What happened?
What changed?
What did the field reflect back?
Did this choice create more Life?
Did it create clarity?
Did it reveal a hidden condition?
Did it expose a false assumption?
Did it show that the desire needs adaptation?
Did it show that the pattern can sustain?
Effect is not punishment.
Effect is information.
The field is always teaching.
- Choose again Creation is not one choice.
Creation is repeated choice.
You become the creator of your life by choosing again and again until the field carries a new pattern.
This is why repetition matters.
One loving moment matters.
Repeated loving moments create a field.
One disciplined act matters.
Repeated discipline creates identity.
One truthful sentence matters.
Repeated truth creates trust.
One act of courage matters.
Repeated courage creates strength.
The universe copies repetition.
So repeat what you choose to become.
IX. Why This Makes You Creator of Your Life
You become creator of your life when you stop living as a passive receiver of circumstances.
You stop saying:
“This is happening, so this is who I am.”
And begin saying:
“This is happening, and now I choose who I am in relation to it.”
That is creation.
Not control of everything.
Creation through relation.
Creation through interpretation.
Creation through repeated cause.
Creation through Free Will.
Creation through desire.
Creation through communion.
You are not creating out of nothing.
You are creating within Totality.
You are using the contextual field.
You are observing what already exists.
You are remembering what has already happened.
You are choosing what will become local.
You are deciding what kind of Body Between you will feed.
This puts you in the position of creator because you are no longer waiting for life to hand you identity.
You are choosing identity.
You are choosing beingness.
And the universe copies beingness.
X. The Simplest Version
Here is the entire model in basic terms:
The universe is a giant field of examples.
Everything that can happen, has happened somewhere in the field.
Every choice has a consequence.
Every relationship creates a Body Between.
Every pattern produces a result.
You do not need to personally experience every bad result to learn from it.
You can look.
You can observe.
You can remember.
You can decide.
Then you choose the portion of the field you want to live now.
That choice begins with desire.
Desire says:
“This is what I want to become.”
Free Will says:
“I choose it.”
Memory says:
“Here is what the other roads became.”
Sophia says:
“Can this choice function, adapt, and sustain?”
Life says:
“Does it carry Joy, Truth, and Love?”
Action says:
“Now make it real.”
Experience says:
“Here is the result.”
Then the field asks again:
“What do you choose now?”
This is how you use the universe as a tool.
Not by controlling the universe.
By learning from all of it.
Not by recreating every pain.
By placing the negative in the past and using it as contrast.
Not by worshiping fear.
By choosing the present experience.
Not by chasing random desire.
By following the desire that carries Life.
Not by waiting for proof.
By becoming the proof.
XI. Final Statement
The universe is the contextual field.
The Body Between Us is the relational field created between beings.
Time is the collective Body Between all relationships.
The universe contains all contrast, outcomes, options, choices, and consequences.
It is the field of cause and effect.
It is the great mirror.
It is the great copier.
It receives beingness and reflects it into experience.
The only thing that matters is desire because desire gives direction to becoming.
But desire must be chosen.
It must be tested.
It must be embodied.
It must be repeated.
Most people do not follow desire because desire demands transformation, while fear offers familiarity.
So they live by default.
They recreate old fields.
They repeat old bodies between old relationships.
They call it fate.
But the awakened person uses the universe differently.
They observe the whole contextual field.
They place negative experience in the past.
They read memory.
They enter silence.
They find Joy, Truth, and Love.
They test through Functionality, Adaptability, and Sustainability.
They choose as cause.
They act.
They watch.
They choose again.
This is how the universe becomes a tool.
This is how Free Will becomes creation.
This is how desire becomes life.
This is how the I uses the field to create reality.
Not by escaping the universe.
By learning how to use all of it.
